Square works with any US-issued and most internationally-issued magstripe or chip cards bearing a Visa, MasterCard, American Express, Discover, JCB, or UnionPay logo.

How do I accept credit cards on Square?
To accept card payments with the Square app without a reader:
- Ring up a transaction by adding items or entering custom amounts using the keypad.
- Tap Charge to process the payment.
- Tap Manual Card Entry > enter the card number, expiration date, security code, and the customer’s billing ZIP code.
- Tap Charge.
Does Square reader accept debit cards?
Square works with any Canadian-issued and most non-Canadian issued credit cards with a Visa, MasterCard, American Express, JCB or Discover logo as well as Interac Debit cards. Using the Square Contactless + Chip Reader, you can accept INTERAC Flash® transactions (e.g. tap debit) up to $100.
What is Square payment method?
Mostly, Square allows merchants to accept mobile credit card payments via a plastic dongle that can be inserted into the port of a phone. Square, like a credit card company, takes a cut of the transaction (2.75% per swipe or 3.75% plus 15 cents for manually typed transactions).
Can square accept ACH payments?
